FORMER British prime minister Gordon Brown asked police to investigate whether his phone was hacked into by newspaper reporters, a source close to the former leader has confirmed.Brown wrote at least one letter to the capital's Metropolitan Police over concerns that his mobile phone was targeted while he served as chancellor during 2005 to 2007, sources said.His concerns were raised during the latter stages of Andy Coulson's stint as editor of newspaper the News of the World.
